Allure is Live on Squarespace

When Michelle of Allure Hair Design and Medi Spa first approached me about redesigning their existing website, I was quietly thrilled. You see, I’ve spent many hours at Allure over the years - mostly there for their manicures and pedicures but also there to sip hot cappuccinos and eat biscotti. Funny enough it was not through my experience as a client that they approached me to work together, but rather through my work with the landing page (soon to be full website) of 692 Coffee and Bar that I designed.

Allure Web Design Brand Goal

We wanted to tweak their existing A Monogram and I loved the idea of adding a small detail to bring the spa feel to the letter “A.” I toyed with far more detailed florals but my instinct is always to go with the simplest version of impactful design. When I added these two leaves, I knew it was the one and luckily my clients agreed. The initial colour concept was a tad brighter than what we decided to go with in the end but the overall feel stayed consistent.

Allure is a brand that has been around for a long time - started by two local Manotick women back in the ‘90s. I wanted to design a logo that represents their luxury, yet approachable brand. The main logo for Allure is simple yet leaning towards bold. The heavier font adds a less serious touch while still remaining classic.

We used a combination of good stock photography as well as branded photography that I took over the course of two shoots. I had a lot of fun shooting the interior (it’s product heaven), and the staff. It really is a beautiful building that is kept in immaculate condition and was a pleasure to photograph.

This was such a fun project that combined two of my favourite things: a spa + a chance to design something beautiful. Hop on over to Allure Hair Design and Medi Spa and take a look (and book a facial while you’re at it).
